- BTE's newest Super Hauler is now finished, test flown, and delivered. It is a variation of the North Dakota
airframes, this time with conventional landing gear for rough-field operation. Its mission is unique, to say the least!
It will be used to drop parachute-equipped probes into oncoming tornadoes. You may see it on the next season of
"Storm Chasers" on the Discovery Channel.

Breaking News: They did it! The Super Hauler was successfully deployed in front of a storm in Aurora, Nebraska.
They dropped probes into the inflow region then landed the plane safely on a gravel road in a pretty stiff crosswind.

- With the Super Hauler project out of the way, Bruce will resume production of the next batch of Reaction 54 kits.
If there are no more delays or interruptions, the R54 kits should begin shipping in July.

- It's true, the Venture 60 has been discontinued. This decision was not made lightly. The V60 was
BTE's flagship design for 14 years. But Bruce has found it impossible to keep up with production AND
develop new designs at the same time, so something had to give. The silver lining is that perhaps this
move will lead to some new kit designs from BTE in the future. Please don't read anything into this news. With
the recent shutdowns of several
small kit manufacturers, it would be easy to jump to the conclusion that BTE might be headed in the same
direction. Not so! BTE is committed to the production of "Quality-Minded Model Airplane Kits"
for the long haul. V60 plans and canopies are in stock for brave scratch builders.

- These four modified Super Flyin' King airframes were built at BTE for
NASA. They will be used at the Dryden Research Center, located on Edwards Air Force Base, as trainers for UAV pilots.
